Vegetable Oil Fuels and Diesels
-Reduce dependency on foreign oil
-Nearly eliminate fuel costs with waste vegetable oil (WVO)
-Reduce emissions

I converted this 1983 Mercedes to run on waste vegetable oil (WVO) in the spring of 2006.  I wanted to help save the environment and save some money on fuel each year at the same time.  This Mercedes 300D has been running flawlessly on soybean oil with no change in performance but less smoke from the tailpipe.

A straight vegetable oil conversion for any diesel vehicle, such as the one I used from www.greasecar.com, can cost between $800 and $3000 based on the contents of the kit.  For cost, filtering, and maintenance information or any other grease questions, please refer to the Conversion page of this website.

Vegetable oil conversions just modify the car's existing fuel and coolant systems.  The coolant serves as a circulating heater for the vegetable oil system.

If you would like to communicate with a group of greasers other than myself, please visit the Grease Forum.  It has all sorts of vegetable oil information as well as some how-to links for Mercedes W123.  Feel free to post any questions you may have!  If you want to e-mail me, please see my profile on the Grease Forum.
